Let's Talk Young Chef Camps!

For over 25 years, we have had the honor of supporting young chefs by teaching them the basics of cooking.  It’s a model that we’re incredibly proud of, proving time and again that children of all ages can learn how to cook fun, fantastic meals at home in a safe and positive kitchen environment.

Through partnering with parents, our goal is to support, nurture, and expand kitchen awareness and change lives for the better through fresh food.  Our camps are offered for children as young as 11 years old, so youths can grow up knowing the heart of the home is always in the kitchen!

Some quick FAQs to know:

How long are Young Chef Camps and Classes?

We have two different versions of Young Chef classes.

Our first is individual Young Chef classes, which are offered throughout the year. These classes are similar to our Adult-level classes in that they follow an individual “theme” and can be taken one-to-two at a time as scheduling allows.

Separately, our Young Chef Summer Camps are one-to-three days per week, three hours each day - 10:00AM-1:00PM.  Your child(ren) can attend only a single day, up to multiple weeks throughout the summer, as we teach a wide variety of different skills and recipes, all of which can be seen on our Young Chef Online Calendar.

Who should participate in Young Chef programming?

Our classes are designed for children ages 11-17 years old.

Please note that we do offer a 10% discount if multiple children in one family are taking the same class.  We love when siblings want to cook together!

What skills does my child need in order to participate?

We make our Young Chef classes and camps as approachable and fun as possible!  In these classes, kids will engage in hands-on workshops and discover the joys of cooking a range of different dishes each day, learning the techniques that will set them up for a lifetime of quality time in the kitchen.

At the very beginning of class, we will spend time on kitchen safety and knife skills to set your child up for success. All that we ask is that your child:

●     Has a healthy interest in cooking or baking and spending time in the kitchen

●     Wears closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing

In the instance that your child might require some adaptations to our traditional classes, please get in touch. We will do everything in our power to make our classes as accessible as possible. This includes children with food allergies.

When can we start?!

Our next round of Young Chef classes and camps start June 9, 2022 and will continue throughout the Summer. We’re so excited to see our young chefs soon!
