In our Young Chef cooking classes and camps, we aim to teach kids the importance of fresh ingredients, basic cooking techniques and fundamental skills that can help them gain confidence in the kitchen, and get excited about making good food! This summer, we are offering a number of affordable one and two-day classes, designed for maximum flexibility, so you can sign up for a number of classes each week, or just drop in for a morning, whatever your summer schedule allow! Classes are either $75 for one day, or $149 for the two day classes. Young Chef kids cooking classes are designed for children and teens aged 11 and up, and are scheduled from 10.00am-1.00pm on Tuesday-Thursday during the week from June to August.
Due to demand, we are offering two different Basic Skills classes this year, with each running in June and July.
Beginners Basic Skills is a two-day workshop, ideal for kids who are just starting their culinary journey and features recipes with one fundamental technique to master.
Classic Basic Skills is a two-day workshop designed as the next step for those students having taken the Beginners class, and is open to those who are already comfortable in the kitchen, and are ready to tackle two-stage recipes.
Other new classes include a series of Baking workshops, where we look to designs on Pinterest for inspiration! Students will spend a fun and creative morning in the kitchen baking cupcakes, macarons, cake decorating or molding fondant, and then staging and posting their sweet treats and masterpieces on social media, before taking them home! Also included are a series of one-day regional classes, with cuisines from Italy, France and Mexico, with each featuring two different menus.
Visit the June, July and August cooking class and summer camp calendars to view upcoming classes, and book online.
Any young chef that has taken one of Chef Dan’s cooking classes, and been instructed on knife safety and kitchen etiquette, is eligible to come to any of our regular classes unaccompanied going forward!
